Common Questions
How does client pass-through work?
When you or someone on your team finishes a live depo, we email that attorney (or your billing team) a receipt with the cost, the case, the deposition, and the date. Use it to pass the cost through to your client if you'd like.
Can I share a case, workbook, or live deposition with colleagues?
Yes. Just let us know who you'd like to be connected with and we'll make it happen.
Am I limited in the number of cases I can create on Second Chair?
Nope. Have a heyday. It's the number of depositions that matters.
How many documents can I upload to a case?
As many as your heart desires, within reason. If you have more than 5,000 documents you're uploading for one case, get in touch with us and we'll work together on getting everything set up for you.
What if my firm needs more than 10 live depos per month?
No problem. Email us at zach@second-chair.ai and we can get you set up with a custom enterprise plan.
How do I get my team onboarded?
Right after you sign up you'll get an email with instructions and walkthrough videos. Someone from customer success will reach out to schedule an onboarding call for you or your team. We want you driving the Porsche, not parking it in the garage.
Who can use the software?
Anyone at your firm: attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, Craig the intern. The more the merrier.
Can I roll over unused workbooks and depositions?
Yes. You can bank up to three months' worth of your plan's allotment of pre-depo workbooks and live depositions.

What if I go over my monthly allotment?
Once you've used your allotment and any rollover, we'll bill your payment method $50 per extra pre-depo workbook and $350 per extra live deposition. Move up a tier that same month and we'll waive the fee and add that tier's allotment instead.
